Rasam - or saaru as it is known in Karnataka - is one of the simplest and most comforting dishes in South Indian cooking. Unlike heavier gravies, rasam is meant to be light, aromatic, and restorative, especially when made with a traditional rasam powder.
For generations, Karnataka households have prepared rasam using carefully balanced spice blends that highlight pepper, cumin, and coriander rather than overwhelming heat.
Our Karnataka Traditional Rasam Powder follows that same philosophy - whole spices sourced from farms, gently roasted, stone-ground in small batches, and packed fresh to preserve the delicate aroma that defines authentic rasam.
Pepper-forward warmth rather than chilli-heavy heat
Balanced spices designed for light, drinkable rasam
Minimal ingredients for clarity and digestibility
Traditional roasting that preserves aroma
Whole spices are sourced directly from farms - never mixed with fillers. Each batch is roasted carefully and ground in small batches only after orders are placed to preserve freshness and authentic flavour.
Many commercial rasam powders add lentils, fillers, or excessive chilli powder to create bulk. We don't. Ever.
Made only with whole spices
Pepper-forward for traditional Karnataka flavour
Stone-ground to preserve natural oils and aroma
Free from fillers, additives, and preservatives
Packed fresh for maximum aroma
From Karnataka's kitchens to your table. No shortcuts. No additives. Just authentic, home-style goodness.

Transfer to an airtight glass or steel container immediately
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
Do NOT refrigerate (condensation can affect the spice blend)
Keep away from moisture, steam, and strong odors
Best consumed within 180 days of packaging date
Rasam powder contains freshly roasted spices that naturally release aromatic oils. Since we do not add preservatives or anti-caking agents, the aroma gradually reduces over time. After 180 days, it remains safe to consume, but the fragrance and flavour may begin to fade - a sign of preservative-free rasam powder.
Lightly dry roast before use to revive flavour, OR
Use slightly higher quantity while cooking, OR
Store tightly sealed to retain remaining freshness
